The Science of Aeration

This post was inspired by my neighbor, who wanted to know the reasons for needing an aeration and wanted the "science" of lawn care. In my previous post I discussed why aeration is needed. In this post I show the "nitty gritty" of what happens when you aerate. This is a great illustration of the compact, thatch layer that can be on your grass before, how the lawn looks right after aeration, and the healthy, new, deeper roots that have developed 8-10 weeks after aeration is complete.  Hopefully this will help you make the decision to aerate this year!
